Pre-Treatment Instructions
Thank you for choosing us! Our goal is to help you look and feel your best. Successful aesthetic treatment depends on several factors. To achieve optimal safe and effective results please follow these instructions.
Schedule your Botox appointment at least 4 weeks prior to a special event, such as a wedding, birthday or a vacation to allow for complete healing. Although we do everything we can to minimize bruising, plan ahead as the face is VERY vascular and bruising is to be EXPECTED.
Results from Botox injections will take approximately 4-14 days to appear/settle. Also, bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.
Avoid blood thinners (Aspirin, Advil/Ibuprofen/Aleeve, Fish Oil, Garlic, Turmeric, or high doses of vitamin E) 48 hours prior to and 48 hours after your aesthetic treatment. Patients that bruise easily or take blood thinners may take longer to heal. Please be patient. If you are prescribed a blood thinner medication for medical reasons please DO NOT stop taking it.
Avoid consuming alcohol or caffeinated beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol and caffeine may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising).
Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.
If you would like to minimize the risk of bruising after treatment, please consider these options:
Homeopathic Arnica Montana ointment (pill form). Usage depends on the formulation. Typically, one pill 3x/day four days starting the day of your aesthetic treatment. Ointment can be applied to bruising post treatment three times a day.
Bromelain (homeopathic medicine)
Good nutrition & fruits (pineapple & papaya)
